Asian Art Museum SF
This is an example of my willingness to say yes as much as possible.
While serving as a Project Director at a production company in San Francisco, I received a call from a Trustee of the Asian Art Museum of SF. They commissioned a 22,000 sq. ft. mural to be used as part of the opening ceremony of the museum’s new building. They wanted to wrap the building in the mural and then unveil it during opening day. The problem was they couldn’t find anyone to help them make this happen.
I said yes and got to work ASAP.
The project required hiring an engineer and a metal fabricator to make custom brackets along the perimeter of the roof. Next, I brought in a team of riggers who would actually scale the building and secure the mural to the brackets. Because the building just underwent a multi-million dollar renovation and its location was across from city hall, several meetings had to take place with dozens of stakeholders to ensure everyone was comfortable with the project moving forward.
The success of this project led to more event work at the museum and the event planner brought us in during the remodel of the Academy of Sciences in Golden Gate Park.
